Środowisko lokalne rozumiane jako mała ojczyzna, miejsce bliskie, dom pełni ważne
role socjalizacyjno – edukacyjne. Jako przestrzeń animacji stymuluje rozwój jednostek i
całych społeczności. Wspomaga budowanie społeczeństwa obywatelskiego – wspólnoty,
która na fundamencie dziedzictwa kulturowego „w imię ideału” podejmuje wyzwania
współczesności.
„Współbycie” jednostek, społeczności i miejsca warunkuje rozwój, stanowi dobro
„obopólne”. Miejsce pozbawia anonimowości, aktywizuje, „przeobraża”. Społeczność
lokalna „będąc w relacji z miejscem” uczy się dialogu, tolerancji, szacunku, otwartości,
wspólnego planowania, współdziałania w realizacji wyznaczonych zadań, osiąganiu celów.
Wskazuje na to przykład działań animacyjnych podejmowanych na zamkniętej stacji
kolejowej Pruszcz Bagienica.

Abstract (EN)
The local community, understood as little homeland, the place near or home, has its
important social and educational roles and meanings. Being a place of animation, it
stimulates the development of individuals as well as whole communities. It facilitates the
growth of a civil society, understood as a community that draws from its cultural heritage and
faces the challenges of the contemporary world aiming to reach perfection.
The coexistence of individuals, communities and the place is a prerequisite for development
and it creates mutual welfare. When it comes to the place, it loses its anonymity: being
activated and transformed, it is given a new quality. As far as the local community is
concerned, when it is in a relationship with the place, it learns how to interact with others,
how to be tolerant, respectful and open-minded. What is more, members of the community
develop common strategies of planning, realizing appointed tasks and achieving aims. An
example which supports the above mentioned hypothesis is the animation activity at the
railway station Pruszcz Bagienica which has been out of use for many years.
