The Development of the Scientific Approaches towards Child abuse concept

The beginning of a scientific interest of child abuse phenomenon is rather commonly
indicated in literature as the second half of XX century. Meanwhile, a precise analysis of the
history and the development of that matter, shows that the roots of an interest on child abuse
can be seen much earlier. The paper is an attempt to give a short description of the road the
knowledge on child abuse went through, and getting by the topic the interdisciplinary and
international status.
